The 10th Session of the National Assembly (Parliament) will likely see many fresh new faces and a few old ones too. The Old Starehians Leadership Forum, congratulates our brothers who served in the 9th Parliament for their mature, bi-partisan approach on major National Issues and their leadership in various committees such as the Defense and Foreign Affairs Commmittee, Speaker’s Committee, and portfolios served - Ministry of Information & Communication, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International relations, Ministry of Cooperative Development and Marketing and Ministry of Finance.
New Faces expected in the 10th Parliament include - Daniel Maanzo - Norminated M.P. (ODM-K), Mohamud A. Mohamed - Moyale M.P. (ODM), as well as the return of Peter Kenneth - Gatanga M.P. (PNU) and Raphael Tuju - (PNU).
well well as from the 28th Dec last year i came to realize that politics is a bad game though the players are clean. To have a whole gentleman or a distingushed lady standing before kenyans and acknowledge that Hon Kibaki won decisevely is the hipocracy of the highest order. It gets even worse when obvious loosers of the general elections (ODM-K) stand up and put a spirited fight to hijack the process of justice and reconcilliation by joining an already questionable goverment. Kenya is in tatters, what we see in TVs police shooting live bullets to individuals protesting for their rights is unacceptable in this society. People can no longer feel proud of their tribal affiliations for the fear of being victimized, people can no longer travel freely at night for the fear of being attacked. The question i pose to every patriotic kenyan is_ Are we having a goverment of the people at the moment or a police state ? The earlier we get an amicable solution to this the beteta ! Meanwhile we reamin to seek God's Grace !Otherwise Justice and peace starts with me and you! so Natulenge Juu !
Kenya has been one of the most recognized and respectable countires in the world when it comes to peace and coperation. So much has been done by the courageous and deternimed leaders to bring democracy and justice in the country.Since the advent of multiparty democrary and removal of Moi from power, many were optimistic that good things were in the offing. When Kibaki, our school patron, took power, he seemed being a gentlemen for the first two years but that has changed drastically changed and we can now see the other side of him. Dr. Griffin before his death was very delighted with the entry of old boys into politics and consequently into the Govt; notably Hon Raphael Tuju and Peter Kenneth. He knew the starehe legacy would be felt comprehensivelyand deeply. And now look at what Kenya is going through; and the sad thing is that Tuju and Peter Kenneth are part of the Kibaki's main stream lieutenants. On behalf of other old boys and the Starehe fraternity, I urgue Hon Tuju and Peter Kenneth not to let Dr. Griffin down by Accepting any position be it nomination or cabinet in the Govt which did not respect the will of the people. Tuju and Kenneth, it is the time to rise above personal interest and show kenyans what you became of from Starehe because us all old boys we are watching and many are not happy with injustice that is going is on now !!! Fellow brothers, what do you think?
Kenya is almost turning into a humanitarian situation. We all know there was a serious problem with the tallying of the votes - and until this current administration agrees to allow justice to stand and the will of the people to reign, Kenyan will never be the same. We were all brought up at Starehe with a deep sense of justice and strong moral standards. Irregardless of our party affiliations, we should never compromise these standards.
The failure by our Old boy leaders to stand for Truth is appalling! Boss wouldn't be proud.
It is not too late.
Old boys in influential positions must now stand and speak the Truth calmly and eloquently. And demand that the will of the people BE RESPECTED.
There will be no winners if the current situation persists. Only precious lives lost. And a prosperous nation ruined.Together with the dreams of many.
It is our moral obligation to stand for justice and not cooperate with this government if it cannot respect the people's will.
